So outside of the store they removed all of the bushes a few weeks ago (for reasons unknown) and there appeared a duck’s nest there, left alone and unshielded. Not wanting to let this nest of eggs get eaten and or destroyed because the shopping center owner decided they didn’t want shrubs anymore, we took the liberty of getting a few branches from other trees and shrubs in the lot and shading the nest at least a little.
To make a long story short, the eggs hatched today, and above you can see the happy mom and ducklings. Yay!
